What We Love About the Schwinn A10 Upright Exercise Bike:

Console

For an entry-level bike, the console on the Schwinn A10 Upright Exercise Bike is a nice surprise. It has a lot of performance read outs and even has six programmed workouts. The there are two programs a piece that provide course, pursuit and circuit training. These are nice because they adjust your resistance throughout your exercise and provide you an intense workout every time. No thought needed. They also provide a little motivation to keep you on the bike longer and to keep you coming back for the next workout.

What Isn’t So Great:Schwinn-A10-Upright-Exercise-Bike-2011

Comfort

The Schwinn A10 Upright Exercise bike has all of the normal complaints that you’ll see in an entry-level, budget-friendly of exercise equipment. The first complaint that we often heard was that the seat is extremely uncomfortable. We saw a lot of quick fixes like padded shorts, padded seat covers and even a towel strapped to the seat. This was probably the most common complaint. Another common complaint was that the fan is weak and virtually useless. That’s not good because a fan can go a long way during an intense workout. Finally, the last complaint that we saw kind of often was that the heart rate sensors are located in an awkward and uncomfortable position. If you notice the sensors are located on the side of the console, which puts you in a weird position while trying to cycle.

Final Word on the Schwinn A10 Upright Exercise Bike:

For under $250, the Schwinn A10 Upright Exercise Bike is a good purchase. It has a console with programmed workouts to motivate you to get back on the bike. At this price range, there aren’t too many bikes that have workout programs on the console. There are some comfort issues as we’ve discussed like the seat, fan and location of the heart rate sensors that could be improved.
