The Akro-Mils 10144 is a useful organizer when a family’s problem is many small items rather than a few large belongings. Forty-four drawers give batteries, craft pieces, fasteners or other supplies separate homes. The cabinet is most effective when the categories are stable enough that labeling them saves repeated searching.

The official dimensions are 20 inches wide,6-3/8 inches deep and 15-13/16 inches high. Its shallow depth makes it easier to place on a bench than a deep tote, but drawer-opening room still needs to be included. A cabinet positioned behind other objects may look organized while remaining inconvenient to use.

What the design changes

It is less useful for general clutter dominated by large objects, or when portability and secure closure matter. Buy it after listing the categories and checking drawer sizes, so the cabinet becomes a retrieval tool rather than a wall of tiny mystery drawers.
