Fellow Stagg EKG Pro Review: Precise water control for a focused coffee station
A temperature-controlled gooseneck kettle whose appeal is deliberate pouring, with a modest capacity and premium positioning.

The Stagg EKG Pro is a specialist kettle for someone who already values a controlled pour. It makes the strongest case beside a manual coffee dripper, where directing a narrow stream is part of the routine. For a household mainly filling large teapots or cooking pots, its shape and capacity may be less convenient than a broader everyday kettle. The useful question is what you pour, not how impressive the base looks.
Control where it matters
Fellow specifies a 0.9-liter capacity and temperature selection from 104°F to 212°F. The Pro’s screen also provides scheduling, a brew stopwatch and an adjustable hold period. Those controls can reduce repeated setup for a familiar morning recipe. They do not determine the right recipe for every coffee or tea; the ingredient and your preference still guide the temperature you choose.
The gooseneck spout is the defining feature. A deliberate stream suits a dripper better than a quick, broad pour, but that same specialization is worth considering when several people need hot water at once. Do not pay for a pour-over workflow if you rarely make pour-over coffee. A conventional spout may suit your kitchen better even when it looks less distinctive.
Make room for the whole routine
Fellow lists a footprint of approximately 11.1 by 6.77 inches and a height of 7.7 inches. Allow practical space around the base for filling, lifting and returning the kettle. The published cord length is 2.5 feet, so outlet placement matters. A brew station should be comfortable to reach without stretching a cord across a working surface.
The US version is designed for North American electrical requirements. Choose the correct regional model rather than assuming a travel plug changes voltage compatibility. Finish options and the separate Pro Studio Edition also deserve attention: attractive photographs can show different handle materials or upgraded touch points. This assessment concerns the Pro’s brewing functions, not an assumption that every finish includes the Studio construction.
Value depends on frequency
The hold and scheduling features have a clearer purpose if you brew several cups in succession or follow a predictable morning routine. If you only boil water occasionally, they may add little practical value. Budget first for the coffee, grinder and measurements that support the drink you actually want; a premium kettle cannot correct stale beans or an unsuitable grind.
Our verdict is favorable for committed manual brewers who will use the pouring control daily. It is a more selective recommendation for a general household kettle. We have not timed its heating or measured temperature accuracy independently, so the score reflects the documented controls, capacity and ownership tradeoffs rather than a claim of tested superiority.
Review basis: This is a source-based editorial assessment of the manufacturer’s published specifications, instructions and product design, not a hands-on test. Scores reflect the suitability and tradeoffs discussed here; we have not independently measured performance, durability or taste.
