The Brother HL-L2460DW is a sensible printer to consider when the job is regular black-and-white documents. Its appeal is focus: buyers who do not need color or scanning can compare the cost of a simpler printing setup.

What the model does

Brother specifies monochrome laser printing, automatic two-sided printing and a maximum stated speed of 36 pages per minute under its test conditions. The machine is a printer rather than a scanner-equipped all-in-one, so document capture requires a separate solution.

Duplex printing can reduce paper use when the document is suitable for two-sided output. It also changes the workflow for forms or pages that must remain single-sided. Check the supported paper types and sizes against the actual documents the household prints.

Calculate the continuing expense

Compare toner and drum costs, the stated yields and how those yields are measured. An included starter cartridge is not necessarily the same capacity as a replacement cartridge. A low purchase price can be misleading if the first supply replacement arrives sooner than expected.

Decide whether occasional color work can be handled elsewhere. If it is rare, a monochrome printer plus a separate service may be more practical than maintaining a color device for a few pages. If color is routine, this model is simply the wrong category.

Verdict

The HL-L2460DW is a credible choice for text-heavy home or small-office printing, particularly when automatic duplexing is useful. It is not a complete scanning or color-printing station. Price the machine with realistic supplies, confirm connection compatibility and measure the paper-loading space before buying. Choose it for a defined document job and it is easier to judge fairly against more elaborate alternatives.
