DEWALT DCC020IB Review: One Inflator for Tires and Large Inflatables
Three power options and separate pressure and volume functions give this bare tool a broad household role.

Review basis: This is a research-based editorial review of manufacturer documentation and published product specifications, not a hands-on test. Ratings reflect documented features and buying tradeoffs; performance claims are attributed to their sources.
The buying judgment
The DEWALT DCC020IB is more versatile than a tire-only inflator, especially for someone already using compatible 20V MAX batteries. Its high-pressure hose serves tires and smaller pressurized items, while a separate high-volume arrangement handles larger inflatables and deflation. That division is the reason to consider it. A buyer who only occasionally tops up a car tire may prefer a smaller dedicated unit; a household moving between bicycles, sports equipment and air mattresses can make better use of the broader design.
Three power choices, one important caveat
The inflator supports a compatible battery, twelve-volt vehicle power and mains power through an AC adapter. The DCC020IB package is a bare tool: the battery, charger and AC adapter are separate. The included twelve-volt power cord therefore matters when comparing the apparent entry price with a cordless-ready package. Existing DEWALT owners may already have two of the necessary pieces. A first-time buyer should price the intended power arrangement before treating battery operation as an included feature.
Pressure and volume are different jobs
The digital gauge and automatic shutoff make preset-pressure inflation convenient in principle, while the threaded chuck provides a deliberate connection to the valve. That is a different experience from quickly pressing a connector onto a valve and holding it in place. The high-volume hose has a separate purpose and can be moved to the deflation port. Do not assume every item should be filled using the pressure setting intended for a tire. The equipment being inflated determines the appropriate mode and target.
Useful practical details
Onboard accessory storage is particularly relevant for an inflator that serves several jobs. A Presta adapter and inflation needle are helpful only if they remain with the tool when a bicycle or ball needs attention. The integrated light can help locate the working area, and the rubber feet are intended to limit movement during use. These are modest details, but they support a tool that may be used beside a car rather than on a clear workbench. Storage space still needs to accommodate both hoses and the power cord.
The verdict
Buy the DCC020IB for its mixed pressure-and-volume role and flexible power choices, with particular value for an existing DEWALT battery owner. Skip the extra bulk if your only job is a very occasional tire top-up and a smaller unit meets it. It is not a workshop compressor for running air tools. Its strongest proposition is one portable inflation station for several specific household tasks, provided the full package includes the power accessories you actually plan to use. The bare-tool label should shape the budget from the start.
